Dear Members,
On Monday night the Board of Ski Racing NSW met to continue discussions regarding the season and when we might be able to start racing. The information and guidance coming out of the Premier’s Department and NSW Health have not changed in the last week, other than the establishment of objectives for vaccinations in NSW and the easing of restrictions that may come based on this.
Jon Horbury reported that SRA has been working hard on modelling the financial outcomes of a number of different scenarios in what is a dynamic situation, all with a view to getting us back on the water at the earliest possible opportunity.
Last night, in a meeting of the Heads of States and Clubs Forum (HSC), it was unanimously agreed that getting our sport back up and running is our priority and that this must be achieved in a way that leaves SRA financially viable, both now and into the future.
It was agreed that the HSC Forum would reconvene in say 3 weeks’ time to consider any further updates / developments.
As a Board and General Committee, we will continue to meet weekly to assess the situation and hope to be able to provide you with some guidance sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, the more people that are vaccinated, the quicker we will be back on the water.
If you have any queries or concerns, please don't hesitate to email nswskiracing@gmail.com.
Yours in Ski Racing,
Kelly Lindsell
Vice Chairperson
